Voltage Company Dancers work to advance their training by studying in all genres of dance, tumble/acro at a level much more in depth than recreational classes. Auditions are required to join the Company team, every season. Current Company dancers are required to audition every season, as well. Dancers will train under a more focused level to achieve goals in becoming professionals or using dance as a career, or pathway in their future. Dancers attend Conventions, and Regional and National Competitions through the season and have achieved top placement awards, overall awards, special judge call outs, choreography recognition and title placements. They compete with routines that are rehearsed and critiqued by Professional judges, receiving feedback on how to strengthen technique and performance. Company dancers will train under guest artist from around the world each season. Every summer, we have our VDT Intensive Week of training prior to starting the new season, and dancers will train under guest artist in all genres, and learn new season choreography. Company Dancers get to participate in events throughout the season such as performances with local events like “Light up Ellijay”, “Apple Festival Parade”, and the Annual Christmas Parade. They have the opportunity to attend College dance clinics, conventions and learn how to prepare for professional interviews accompanied with auditions for Colleges/Jobs . Company dancers volunteer as guest performers with Assisted living facilities, nursing homes, churches, events with the Gilmer County School System, Fannin County School System, and many more. Many of our VDT Company dancers have gone on to dance professionally in College, and become instructors for our own and other studios and schools.
